" A Witty Saying Proves Nothing"

" A Witty Saying Proves Nothing" - Franciois-Marie Arouet, better known as Voltaire, was a french writer, essayist, deist, and philosopher known for being very witty himself. He was born in the 1600's in Paris France . In 1717 his wittiness got him into trouble and landed him in jail. During that time he wrote "Oedipe" his first writing sucess and began using the pen name Voltaire.

The reason that I like this saying is that even when people are just trying to be funny by saying witty things they can hurt people's feelings. In conclusion a witty saying dosen't prove anything without the facts so sometimes maybe you should not be so witty and think about other people's feelings.

How true this quote is, how many times have all of us spoke without thinking? Then, you see the reaction on the persons face, and think, "why did I say that?" Maybe everyone should read this, and learn from it.
